About Us

Maison Sougetsu derives its name from the blend of “Maison,” meaning “home” in French, and “Sougetsu,” meaning “blue moon” in Japanese—symbolizing the fusion of our French and Japanese heritage. Established in 2023, Sougetsu proudly stands as the first F&B establishment in Indonesia to be fully equipped with authentic Japanese machinery for crafting traditional sweets. From the creation of “anko” (bean paste), the heart of Japanese confectionery, to specialized machines for dorayaki and mochi, we ensure the highest level of authenticity. Our chefs, deeply versed in both Japanese and French pastry traditions, meticulously source ingredients to deliver a true culinary experience.

Our Vision

Education is at the heart of our vision. Indonesia’s vibrant culinary scene is rapidly expanding, with more Japanese brands entering the market each year to captivate the taste buds of discerning food lovers. Yet, despite the growing presence of Japanese establishments, none offer freshly made, authentic Japanese desserts to complete the dining experience. Maison Sougetsu seeks to fill that gap by introducing the true artistry of “Wagashi” to the Indonesian palate. Dedicated to this mission, we’ve assembled a team of skilled professionals, authentic equipment, and premium ingredients to deliver an authentic experience, crafted locally.

Our Mission

Maison Sougetsu caters not only to the Japanese community in Indonesia but also to the wider Indonesian audience. We offer a diverse range of traditional Japanese sweets, familiar to those who seek the authentic flavors of home and to Indonesians who enjoyed these treats during their time in Japan, rekindling fond memories. Through this, we aim to enrich Indonesia’s culinary landscape and inspire further growth in the country’s pastry scene.
